After School Club
Our daily activities programme is carefully structured to include stimulating games but also with calmer fun based activities including structured and unstructured play. Our programme is designed to keep all children constantly amused
Our After School club is a great place for children to relax and unwind, create or take part in some fun activities supervised by experienced, qualified staff giving them the opportunity to try new activities they may not have experienced before.
We understand that children have been working hard at school and after a long day might want to simply relax.
Key Worker
Each child attending SAND will be assigned their own Key Worker. Children will be encouraged to talk to their Key Worker about any concerns that they have. The Key Person will be responsible for meeting the individual needs of the children they support and building a relationship not only with the child but also their parents/carers.
At the end of the school day, Reception and Key Stage 1 children will be collected from their classrooms and Key stage 2 children will meet in the Key Stage 2 playground.
Snack time
A healthy snack will be provided and fresh water will be available throughout the session.
This is proving to be a popular part of the session where we all sit together and enjoy snack time and a cup of tea (squash or water available too). It's lovely to sit and reflect on our day with everyone taking an interest in what they have all done.
Snack can include a a combination of the following: toast, wraps, crumpets, pitta bread, salad (including: tomatoes, peppers, carrots, cucumber), cheese, salsa, humus and a selection of fresh fruit. The occasional treat may slip its way in every now and again!
Opening Times
SAND After School Club will be open during term time from 3:15 - 5:30 with the exception of school in-service days and Bank Holidays.
We encourage a visit prior to booking and would welcome you and your child to snack time time one afternoon, Please contact us to arrange a day.
Outside
Outdoor play is available daily in a large outdoor area which also has a football pen. SAND also have access to the amazing playground equipment that the school have recently had installed. We also have the use of the school field.
Inside
A quiet area is always available for children to relax with a rug, cushions, throws, soft toys and a book box.
- there will be a daily adult led craft/creative activity: cooking, making playdough
- construction: Lego, Duplo, Knex and Mega blocks
- arts and craft: paper, pens, pencil crayons, glitter
- small world toys: cars and car mat, farm animals
- role play: dressing up clothes, shop
- we have a large variety of board games and jigsaws
We have a reactive planning system which enables us to offer the highest quality childcare specific to the group of children that are attending each session.
